What grade levels offered at Bethany Lutheran School? Our programs begin at 2 1/2 years of age and continue through 5th grade.
In which communities do your students live?
Since we are located conveniently minutes from downtown Wichita, we have students from communities as far as Derby, Haysville, Goddard, Andover and Maize.
Do you offer financial aid?
We do offer financial aid (scholarships). The amount of that aid is determined by our School Board. If you would like to apply for aid, you may call the school office at 316-265-3033 to request an application.
Does Bethany offer a before and after school Latchkey Program? Yes. Bethany offers a before school program which begins at 6:00am, and an after school program which is offered until 6:00pm.
Does Bethany require students to wear school uniforms?
Actually we have "Standardized Dress" that has been developed to promote an enviroment that focuses on academics. More importantly, the standard dress guidelines describe proper dress while attending Bethany Lutheran School for an overall training of Christian Living.
How are your classes set up?
Our preschool has one large classroom with restroom facility serving approximately 30 students. Our grade school averages 6-15 students per class.
Are your teachers certified?
All of our teachers are state certified. All our teachers have gone through special training focusing on integrating the faith across the curriculum. We believe a certified staff shows a commitment to finding qualified teachers to be responsible for your child's education.
Is BLS Accredited by the State of Kansas? Yes!
We are one of a select few Christian schools in the Wichita area that are accredited by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE).
Are all of your students Lutheran?
Not at all! Only roughly 50% of our students are Lutheran. Families with varying Christian backgrounds feel very comfortable at BLS.
Does Bethany have a Parent-Teacher organization?
Yes. The Parent Teacher League (PTL). PTL members meet monthly. Check the Parent Memo for schedules and events.
When is a good time to visit BLS?
Often, tours can be given on the same day they are requested. Please call the school office at 316-265-3033 or e-mail us at jodunkel@yahoo.com to set up a tour.
How often do your students attend Chapel?
Preschool and Grade school students have chapel at 9:00a.m., in the church sanctuary, on Wednesday mornings. Chapels are generally a half an hour and parents are welcome to join.
What's chapel all about?
Chapel is a time to sing praises to the Lord and meditate on His word. Our chapels are inspirational, upbeat, and fun!
Who speaks at chapel?
Chapels are led by our teaching staff. Pastor leads the service once per month in a service which celebrates the baptismal birthdays of students and staff.
